Education has the power to be the great equalizer. UP RVA provides low-income students from Richmond’s East End with the tools, resources, and support to succeed in independent schools, college, and beyond.
All of the stressful parts about high school and college, UP RVA took away. You made sure I got to the best school in the city, that I had the supplies I needed, and that I ate. When it comes to education, how hasn’t UP RVA helped me?

Who We Serve
What We Do
UP RVA supports our students with an intentional eight-year road map that starts the summer before ninth grade and culminates with on-time college graduation. During those years, we remove many of the barriers that stand in our students’ way, surround them with a caring community, and do everything we can to allow them to have an equitable experience.
Our Outcomes
of UP RVA students graduate with a high school diploma
of their RPS-school-zone peers
of UP RVA
high school graduates enroll in a 4-year college
of high school graduates nationally from the same demographic
of UP RVA college students are on track to graduate
in 4 years”
of college students nationally from the same demographic
We envision a future….
….where economically disadvantaged students from Richmond’s East End can realize their full potential and become thriving change-makers in their community.
