The Professional Mentor Program aims to pair UP RVA college students with experts in their chosen career fields. A professional mentor will guide a student through the transition from college to the professional world.
This may include:
- Regular check-ins to discuss academic progress or help answer major or career-specific questions.
- CV and job application support.
- Leveraging personal professional network to facilitate professional opportunities.
- “Being there” as a consistent advocate.
We are looking for professional mentors in the following fields:
- Medical and Health Sciences
- Business, Finance & Accounting
- Engineering & Construction Management
- Human Services (Specifically: psychology, social work, political science, international relations, parks, recreation and tourism).
If you are interested in becoming a professional mentor for one of our college students or know someone who could be a great professional mentor, please contact Caitlyn Carpenter, UP RVA’s Pathways Program Director, at ccarpenter@uprva.org.
